Qasim Akram Early Life:

Qasim started his cricket from Lahore. He joined the city’s Riazuddin Cricket Academy in the beginning. Then, he started playing at club level. His performance helped him to get selected at Under-16 level. 

Under 19 Career:

Qasim Akram got a chance to play in the Under-19s at the district level. He represented the Lahore team at that stage. In 2018, he got a chance at the national under 19 level. In 2019, he was selected for the 2019 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup. After that he was named in the squad of Pakistan for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He became the captain of the Pakistan under-19 team before the team toured Bangladesh. He also led Pakistan’s team in the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup which was held in the West Indies. 

Record Holder:

Qasim  had the record of becoming the first player to score a century and take a five-wicket haul in a Youth ODI match. The match was held in February 2022. It was the match for the fifth place play-off in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Qasim Akram played his first Twenty20 match for Central Punjab in the 2020–21 National T20 Cup. The match was played in September 2020.

First Class Career:

List A Career:

Qasim Akram was picked in Central Punjab’s squad for the 2020–21 Pakistan Cup. He got his name in the list in January 2021. He played his debut List A match for Central Punjab after some days. In this tournament, he scored his maiden century in List A cricket. He scored an unbeaten 108 runs.

PSL Career:

Qasim Akram was picked by the Karachi Kings in the players draft for the 2022 PSL. He again got the chance to play in PSL 2023. He did not perform according to his potential in this league.
